SPC week 3 Album Covers

this is the 3rd week of the challenge but only my second picture because well, I'm a slacker. OK wait that sounds negative. Time got away from me and I just didn't have time to take a picture or post anything so I'm making up for it now by posting my version of one of my favorite Broadway soundtracks, Hairspray. It's another one of those that I listened to constantly when I first got it and it's a permanent fixture in my CD case. I decided to do a theme within a theme, that being to do all Broadway soundtracks as album covers.

Here's my version:

Self Portrait Challenge - Album Cover week 1

I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am to do this months challenge! I've always wanted to do live recreations of famous paintings and since I have yet to find willing victims...uh, I mean...volunteers, this is the next best thing!!

The cover I chose first came to me after much searching and consideration, even though it was literally staring me in the face the whole time. (It was sitting on my computer desk). Rent was the first show I went to see "out of state" and on my own, no parental guidance involved. some musical fanatic friends introduced me to the music and they were so passionate about it I felt like I had to go see it to really know what they were feeling. I almost have the whole thing memorized, and it's my go-to music when I'm having a bad day and it never gets old. I listen to it for days on end, until my sister says she won't ride with me until I change cd's.

I had so much fun doing the different poses, with my sister in the background telling me "no turn your face this way", and "you look like you've got gas pain, be happier", you know, encouraging stuff like that.

I thought about changing the name a little like "I don't have to pay RENT" but it just didn't look right. And even though the title isn't exactly like the original ( I didn't have a font that looked like a stencil) I am so psyched it turned out the way it did.

OK, so here's the original album cover for "Rent, original Broadway cast recording"
